Moving AWS Billing to Bespin (CTA)
What is it?
Another option is moving the existing organization to us on paper. This is called CTA (Consent to Assign) and it works like a "Title Transfer" of your payer account (i.e., management account) to us so that from AWS' perspective we own your billing.
How does it work?
- We will collect some information to open a case with AWS (e.g., current account owner, ID, root email address, etc)
- We will open a case with AWS
- AWS will send a Docusign to Bespin and the customer to sign (Consent to Assign).
- Once the paperworks are signed, the account ownership will be transferred to Bespin.
When to choose this option?
This will allow you to keep your current organization structure intact while establishing a resale relationship with us. The downside of this approach is that it takes up to a month to process the transfer since there is some AWS paperwork involved.
What are the things that I need to know about this option?
- It is important that the payer account will be under Bespin's ownership until the resale relationship ends. However, this will always be the case for any resale relationship even if you move your linked accounts without the CTA process. You are just moving your accounts to the resellers existing payer account (vs. transferring your payer account to the reseller).
- Once the transfer is complete, we will update the payer account information so that we become the responsible party for your spending. This will include:
- root email address: (e.g., aws_abc@bespinglobal.com)
- Account name
- Contact information
- Payment information
- Tax information
- Also we will set up some additional things to provide services to you including:
- CUR (Cost & Usage Report) setting
- CloudTrail setting for the payer account security
- IAMs for Billing, Organization, Support, etc
- We will not have any access to the linked accounts under the payer account. However, we do not recommend this option if you have actual workloads within the payer account because this allows us to access the workloads within the payer account. Please move your workloads to the linked accounts before the transfer of the payer account.
- If you need the accounts back, we will create a new CTA request to AWS (reverse of what we do to onboard you).
